Monotone in Anatomy Drawing: The Necessity of Diversity in Reflecting Variation of Physical Symptoms
In many textbooks and medical booklets, physical symptoms are usually depicted in one ethnicity/race only. However, it actually limits the scope of inspection and education as many symptoms show great divergence across different physical appearances. Here I use hyperthyroidism’s eye bulge to demonstrate the importance of such anatomical variation when illustrating diseases in medical application/popularization media.
From myosin and actin to myofibrils; from mitochondria to neurons; from motor cortex to the antagonists of biceps and triceps. We jump, run, and dance because we are powered by the symphony of our body.
Strength, Power
Anatomy sketches often depict men with fit, muscular bodies, while women images are less illustrated in such power and details.
